My name is Hanna M. Mathai and I am so excited to be a part of the QOA family! Moreover, my teaching career is starting at QOA. Initially, I wanted to be a cancer researcher, but my passion for teaching and my love for Catholicism grew stronger while I was earning my bachelor’s degree from Holy Family University. While I was attending Holy Family, I had the opportunity to see many professors who would “walk the extra mile” for their students. From the words of Pope St. John Paul II, “Catholic education is above all a question of communicating Christ, of helping to form Christ in the lives of others.” Thus, I fully decided that I wanted to work for the Church and bring the light of Christ to my students.
In my free time, I enjoy visiting our local Catholic churches and shrines, reading, and exploring the paintings and the architecture of the church buildings. Science and theology are two of my favorite interests. To me, science can help us to understand more about the beauty of God’s creation. In terms of my higher studies, I look forward to taking MA Theology courses at St. Charles Seminary. If God wills, I look forward to getting my Ph.D. in the Religious/Theology field in the future and working in the educational sector of our Archdiocese.
